MILANO MARATHON 2019

“If you can dream it, you can do it“, it read on one of the banners a supporter was holding up high on the side of the road. and I was starting to repeat those words a few times in my head. I know that I would not be breaking my goal of a sub-3 hour marathon today, however, why not aiming for a new personal best.

NO BARCELONA MARATHON 2017

Whilst I am sitting here and writing this post, I am watching athletes running, walking and trotting towards the finish line. Though, I wish this post was called “Barcelona Marathon” and I was able to tell you about my experience of running through the Catalan capital, I suppose you can gather from the title that such is not the case. Instead, I shall describe the feeling of saying “no” to running the Barcelona Marathon.

SEVILLA MARATHON 2017

One week ago I was running through the streets of Barcelona. In precisely two months I would be boarding my returning flight after I will have put over 250 kilometres of running through the desert behind me. Time really does seem to fly be these day. Last weekend I was in Sevilla, in order to run the Marathon. Though, I have been talking enough about hours storming past us, this post would not be complete without mentioning a specific article that I came across around this time last year.

VERONA MARATHON 2016

The idea came early on this year, when I realised that my birthday would fall on a Sunday. Seeing that normally marathons are taking place on the last day of the week, I did not have to think twice, but looked up possible races that I could run to celebrate my anniversary. It cannot help it, but I am a pretty superstitious. I mean I am turning 25 years, hence entering my 26th year of age, so it almost be rude not to run 26 miles on that given day.

A LIFE WITH RUNNING IS BETTER

It’s been a while since I last dropped some thoughts on this blog. Tel Aviv had been the last event, of what I can refer to as my rookie running season. At the end of 2015, I look back at a number of finishes, but above all mind-blowing experiences. I completed the Madrid Half Marathon, as my first-ever running event, before moving on to running two Marathons, one in Madrid and one in Munich. In the meantime, I participated in the Red Bull Wings For Life World Run, before I wrapped up the season with the Coca-Cola Zero Tel Aviv Night Run.

AN INDIVIDUAL TEAMSPORT

First and foremost, thank you, thank you all so much for having read, shared or even donated to my cause. It was my first time to organize a fund raiser as such and I had no idea how it would turn out. In the end, we were able to raise a total of €805.00 as a collective, of which I am very proud and thankful for, indeed. It shows what one can achieve by using the power of a community.

MUNICH MARATHON 2015

My second Marathon. My second 42.195 kilometres of running, took me to the city of Munich. Sadly, the prior training did not go as smoothly as I hoped it would. A series of small issues here and there hindered me from the streets and mountains trails for most of the summer. The main problem playing up around the largest joint of the human body, connecting thigh and leg, the Articulatio genus, also known as the knee.

THE DIFFERENT MILE

Last Sunday, I run 20 miles for joy, whilst they trekked thousands of miles for survival. After I finished my run, I returned home. On the other hand, they never will, as they have lost their homes. With "they", I mean millions of people that have left their country and made their way to seek saver surroundings to live in with their families.
