POSTCARD FROM MAWLAMYINE

The human spirit must prevail over technology.
— Albert Einstein

In Mawlamyine, Myanmar, under the eyes of the largest reclining buddha statue in the world, Win Sein Taw Ya, one finds an inconspicuous water slide. In a world, where technology is prevailing our daily lives, it is delightful to see what joy such simple construction can offer. It shall make one reflect on the importance of physical human interaction. In an era, where everything becomes digital, we are able to connect emotionally, yet, we do not want technology to drive us apart physically. The image shows an ideal world. We see a place of emotions, peaceful human interaction, gratitude and happiness, thus giving an inconspicuous water slide a higher and thought provoking meaning.
