INGREDIENTS

Clif Bloks are your perfect carbohydrate source for energy, and electrolytes provider to replace the ones you lose. Each 60g stick contains 96g of carbohydrates, of which 48g is sugars, plus 0,5g of sodium and 80mg of potassium. There is zero protein, fibre and fat. The main ingredients are brown rice syrup and evaporated cane juice to help keep your energy levels consistent. Cnsuming Clif Bloks does not lead to a sudden hit of energy, unlike Jelly Babies or Gummi Bears. The use of Maltodextrin alongside tapioca and dried cane syrup allows Clif Bloks to sustain energy levels for a lot longer. The energy value is 836Kj/200Kcal per tube (1392Kj/333Kcal per 100g) and its ingredients are completely natural and organic. In addition, some Clif Blok flavours also contain 50mg of caffeine.

FEEDBACK

The chews come in an easy-to-open tube packet. There is no need to tear open the whole packet, instead you can simply slide out individual chews into your mouth. The Bloks are easy to eat and naturally have a more food-like consistency and texture, in comparison to energy gels and being much easier to consume and digest than energy bars, which makes them a good alternative, or addition to your food supplies.

Clif Bloks offers 11 different flavours. However, I have only tried the strawberry flavoured chews and found them to be very tasty thanks to the naturally-sourced flavours. I used them alongside my regular hydration drinks, Clif Bars and Clif Shot Energy Gels to regulate my energy levels effectively. I used them in preparation for and during the Eiger Ultra-Trail and I definitely noted a boost in energy when I run up up the next hill.
